Great Ouseburn’s annual garden festival has become a firm favourite in the open gardens calendar for many near and far. Each year hundreds of visitors come to the village to wander through the 15+ gardens, seek inspiration, chat to their owners, enjoy the talks and demonstrations and put their feet up in the café to enjoy much needed home-made refreshments.

The event has been running since 1991 and has grown in size and scope. With our wide promotions we even have visitors crossing the Pennines for a day trip!

Each year we raise money for village causes important to us all (the church, the school, the cricket club and the village hall). Last year was a record amount of £8000.
