Great Ouseburn’s annual garden festival has become a much-loved fixture in the open gardens calendar, attracting visitors from near and far.
Each year, hundreds make their way to the village to explore stunning gardens, gather inspiration, chat with garden owners, enjoy live music and relax with delicious homemade refreshments in the welcoming village café.

Running since 1991, the event has grown in both size and spirit. Thanks to wide-reaching promotion, we now welcome visitors from across the region, including those making the trip over the Pennines for a day out!
Each year, the festival raises money for village causes close to our hearts. The main beneficiaries are the church, school, cricket club and village hall, with additional one-off donations often given to support other village groups and activities.
In May 2026, we raised a record-breaking £22,500, which is a truly remarkable achievement made possible by the generosity of our community and supporters.
2026 Festival Highlights
The 2026 Great Ouseburn Garden Festival was a wonderful celebration of our village, with visitors enjoying a full day of activities, music, creativity and community spirit.

Art Exhibition in the Village Hall, showcasing work by 17 local artists
